@Imalwaysright
You're making a fairly crucial error here. You are assuming that the nostalgia is for the BRAND instead of for the GAMES.
Someone that grew up in the 80s, 90s playing Nintendo was playing Mario, Zelda, Metroid. If they grew up and became a reviewer for new Nintendo games they have nostalgia for Mario, Zelda, Metroid and 'may' score them higher.
If someone grew up in the 90s playing PlayStation they were probab...
@Marquinho
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there, buddy. You don't get to put words in my mouth. I NEVER said that or even implied it.
But since you want to take it there, I'll play ball.
A) It is Sony's prerogative where they put their games.
B) Nobody is buying a PS5 to play Sackboy.
C) You actually haven't seen the extent of things like physics in Sackboy to actually tell me it can run on PS4 so YOU'R...
HAHAHAHAHAHA. You'll get either 4K30 with RT or Dynamic 4K30 with RT. If you're lucky there will also be a 60fps performance mode in the 1080-1440p range without RT, but I highly doubt it. Ubisoft seems allergic to 60fps with their open world games.
It's quite clever branding if you think about it though.
"Hurr durr does PS5 have Smart Delivery?"
"Well, no, but it let's you do the sa..."
"AHA! See? Xbox is better."
@Marquinho
You just spelled it out and completely missed the point. THE REASON Sony is not "leading by example" is because their PS5 games are PS5 games and not multi-gen games.
Oh, and in both cases it's still up to the bloody publisher. Look at EA, they're doing it on their own without "Smart Delivery".
Look I hope they do. That being said, MS cannot dictate 60fps. So the best they can do is make their 1st party games 60fps. I don't think it will be as dramatic as some people believe though. Don't get me wrong 30 to 60 is a huge improvement, BUT if you've been playing Halo 5, Gears online, Forza Motorsport, or Forza Horizon on X1X, then you've already had the 60fps experience for a while.
Wrong. You are talking about Backwards Compatiblity and not Upgrades.
You can literally follow along with one of the hundreds of videos on youtube.
Well stop living in the 80s. Why on earth would you Read about putting a together a PC if you can Watch an instructional video?
Why do people not get this? "Smart Delivery" is a marketing term. It is up to every publisher whether they do something like that. For instance Ubisoft and CDPR seem to be fully onboard. Meanwhile EA is upgrading games also, but they're doing it their own way. Since it is a publisher choice it would make no sense for any multi-platform game to offer Smart Delivery on Xbox and not do the exact same thing on PS5.
@ Minute Man 721
That's not how this works... Go look at MLB 09 on PS3 vs MLB 14 on PS4. Both games are 1080p, but they don't look the same. Image quality is impacted by SO MANY things besides resolution, buddy. Lighting, shadows, texture quality, geometry density, NPC density, material quality, AA quality, etc. etc.
@timotim
Sure. Vote with your wallet. I'm not supporting 30fps games, just pointing out a reality.
No, it's not. At launch both systems will have Sub 4K 30fps games. Mark my words.
It was a joke in 2013 and 2005/2006 too. Fact is prettier games sell more.
Hahahaha *inhales* HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yes, two budget indie games are more interesting to the general gaming audience vs two well received AAA games.

Am I missing something? Let's compare PS Now to Game Pass.
-1st party games being day and date
+ ability to stream games ON TOP of downloading (PS3 excluded)
@DethWish
That would be an emulator. You're not making any sense.
If there was money in it, then Sony would do it. People can bitch and moan all they want, but even if every person on this site used BC, that would still be a tiny fraction of gamers. Almost nobody really uses BC.
Things should be kept in perspective. N4G or ANY online gaming forum is a tiny, TINY minority of gamers. So gamers are the market, N4G gamers are a tiny subset that makes no difference either way.
